A Note About Mid-year Admission

Each year a number of first-year applicants are offered the chance to study abroad during their first semester and participate in Colby programs in Dijon, France, or Salamanca, Spain. After studying in Europe during the fall semester, these students join their classmates on campus for Jan Plan. Although most of these students elect to go abroad, some choose to start their Colby careers in January.

Deferral Policy

Students admitted to Colby may request to defer their matriculation for a semester or a full year.
