Ralph J. Bunche Scholars Program
The Ralph J. Bunche Scholars Program, named in honor of Nobel Prize-winning diplomat and civil rights activist Ralph J. Bunche, offers a select group of students of color exclusive access to leadership development opportunities and grants for independent scholarship, internships, or humanitarian projects. Bunche Scholars are recognized for their demonstrated academic achievement and community involvement. They are leaders in their communities and often exhibit a deep commitment to social justice and civic engagement.
Ralph J. Bunche Scholars enjoy the following benefits:
- Opportunity Grants of up to $3,000. These grants enable successful applicants to design their own academic, research, internship, or humanitarian projects through DavisConnects.
- Local civic engagement projects to connect with Waterville and Maine.
- Access to a network of more than 100 Bunche Scholars participating in leadership development workshops and community building opportunities on campus and around the world.
- Resources for extended learning opportunities and involvement in international studies or social justice.
