Hickey, new faculty fellow

In the fall of 2019, Amber Hickey will join Colby College as a faculty fellow in the American Studies Program. She holds a Ph.D. in Visual Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Professor Hickey’s research and teaching explore contemporary art and activism, Indigenous visual culture, and environmental justice movements. Her recent publications include, “Rupturing Settler Time: Visual Culture and Geographies of Indigenous Futurity,” in the July 2019 special issue of World Art.
