Students in American Studies learn how to think differently, combining methods from a range of academic disciplines to examine how issues of race, class, gender, sexuality, and nation shape culture—as well as how culture shapes the lives we live. You’ll take classes from across the college, experimenting with different ways of analyzing society, while thinking critically about how knowledge is generated. Work closely with faculty to craft individualized programs of study aligned with your interests and abilities.
Recent graduates from the program have pursued successful careers in diverse areas, including media, education, law, and social services.
