Besteman Elected President of Association of Political and Legal Anthropologists
Francis F. Bartlett and Ruth K. Bartlett Professor of Anthropology Catherine Besteman was elected as the next president of the Association of Political and Legal Anthropologists (APLA), beginning in December, 2014. Besteman plans to foster several APLA initiatives during her time in office, including developing mentoring opportunities for younger scholars and graduate students working on political and legal anthropology.
The APLA is a section of the American Anthropological Association.
