Art co-sponsors Photography and Migration Conference
On April 23-25, 2015, the Art Department will cosponsor a major conference on the subject of photography and migration. This event, organized by Associate Professor of Art Tanya Sheehan, takes place in conjunction with Colby’s arts and humanities theme for 2014-2015: Migrations. The conference features presentations by an international group of scholars and artists as well as Colby faculty and students. It includes a screening of the critically acclaimed film Through a Lens Darkly: Black Photographers and the Emergence of a People (2014) and student-curated exhibitions at Colby Libraries Special Collections and the Colby College Museum of Art. The conference is free and open to the public. For the complete program and to register online, go to: http://web.colby.edu/photomigration/conference.
