Juliet Sperling joining Art faculty in fall 2018

The Art Department is thrilled to announce that Juliet Sperling will be joining the Colby faculty in the fall of 2018! She will hold a three-year position in Art, teaching a variety of courses in American art history. Completing her doctoral dissertation at the University of Pennsylvania this spring, Ms. Sperling studies American material and visual culture, book history, and the history of the moving image. She has received research fellowships from the Luce Foundation/ACLS, Mellon Foundation, Smithsonian American Art Museum, Metropolitan Museum of Art, and many other important institutions in the field. Ms. Sperling has also won two awards for teaching undergraduates at U Penn. Please join us in welcoming her to Colby!
