First annual Senior Capstone trip supported by Mirken fund

In 2014 Colby received a generous gift from the late Alan Mirken to fund an annual trip for Art majors to an arts destination. The first Mirken trip–to New York City–took place October 10-13, 2014. Seven seniors traveled with Professors Bradley Borthwick, Garry Mitchell, and Véronique Plesch to meet with professionals in the art world, many of whom are Colby alumni. Among their destinations were the Whitney Museum of American Art, the New York Historical Society, the offices of Hyperallergenic, Sotheby’s action house, and much more. The group also hosted a reception with area alumni.
