Sheehan named editor of Archives of American Art Journal

As of June 2015, Tanya Sheehan (Associate Professor, Art) will serve as guest editor of the Archives of American Art Journal. First published in 1960 as the Archives of American Art Bulletin, the Journal is the longest-running scholarly journal devoted to the history of art in the United States. It seeks to enrich our understanding of art history and visual culture by publishing original research based in part on the vast holdings of the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution. Professor Sheehan will develop journal content, including a spring 2016 issue focusing on African American art to complement the opening of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture.
