Ziebell, Ryan, Glaisher lead alpine teams

LAKE PLACID, N.Y. --- Brittney Ziebell was 15th for the Colby College women's alpine team, while Jim Ryan and Sam Glaisher both had top-20 finishes for the men in the giant slalom at the St. Lawrence University Carnival on Friday at Whiteface Mountain. 

 
Ziebell had times of 1:05.05 and 1:03.13 for a two-run total time of 2:08.18. Jeanne Barthold took 27th place in 2:10.49, Paige Whistler finished 28th with a 2:10.85, and Cassady Roberts had a 2:11.47 for 32nd place.
 
Ryan had runs of 1:00.99 and 1:01.45 for a 2:02.44 finish to take 17th, while Glaisher was at 2:02.56 with trips of 1:01.55 and 1:01.01 for 19th place. Will Randall took 29th place in 2:04.51 and Matt McKenna added a 2:04.83 for 31st.
 
The Colby men placed fifth out of 12 teams with a score of 66.5 points, while the women were eighth with 59.
