WATERVILLE, Maine --- Despite once again holding a league opponent to one goal or less, the Colby College men's soccer team fell 1-0 to Wesleyan University in NESCAC play Sunday.
The Mules fall to 3-5-2 overall and 0-4-2 in the conference. Colby has allowed just five goals in the six league games and has three 1-0 losses, two 0-0 ties, and one 2-0 loss.
Wesleyan pushed its unbeaten streak to seven games. The Cardinals are 5-0-2 over the past seven games and have allowed just one goal. Senior goalkeeper Adam Purdy (Montclair, N.J.) currently has a shutout streak of 493 minutes, 58 seconds.
Wesleyan (7-1-2 overall, 5-1-1 NESCAC) scored the lone goal of the game at 31:20 when Chris Kafina (Lincoln, Mass.) tapped a cross from Noah Schlesinger (Surrey, England) into the left corner of the net.
Purdy finished with two saves and Colby goallkeeper Cody Funkhouser (Hopewell, N.J.) had four stops.
