Ryan 15th for alpine ski team in EISA opener

STOWE, Vt. --- Jim Ryan finished in 13th place in the giant slalom for the Colby College men's alpine ski team and Cassady Roberts was the women's top finisher in taking 22nd place at the University of Vermont Carnival on Friday.

The Colby men placed fifth out of 13 teams, while the women were eighth.
 
Will Randall also had a top 20 finish for the Colby men in taking 15th place. Ryan had times of 1:00.90 and 1:03.89 for a two-run total time of 2:04.79. Ryan's second run time was faster than the fourth-place finisher in the event. Meanwhile, Randall had Colby's best opening run with a 1:00.76 and followed with a 1:04.22 for a finish of 2:04.98.

Sam Glaisher took 26th place in 2:07.60 and Craig Marshall was 28th in 2:07.69 for the Colby men.

Roberts had a two-run total time of 2:11.56 after runs of 1:02.95 and 1:08.61. Paige Whistler finished in 26th place with a 2:13.07 total (1:04.37, 1:08.70).
