Women's hockey falls at home to Bowdoin

WATERVILLE, Maine --- Kayla Lessard stopped 28 shots for the shutout and Schuyler Nardell had four goals to lead the Bowdoin College women's hockey team to a 7-0 win over Colby College on Friday night at Alfond Rink.

Bowdoin (2-1 overall, 1-0 NESCAC) and Colby (2-3 overall, 0-3 NESCAC) will meet again Saturday in Brunswick at 3 p.m. in another league contest.

Lessard stopped 14 shots in the second period in playing for the first time this season.

The Polar Bears led 2-0 after the opening period on goals by Rachel Kennedy and Nardell. Mallory Andrews had an assist on Nardell's goal and finished with three for the night.

Bowdoin broke it open in the second period with three goals by Chelsea MacNeil, Kennedy, and Nardell, who added two more scores in the final 20 minutes.
