Connolly third in 5,000 for Colby women at Tufts

MEDFORD, Mass. --- Kate Connolly finished in third place in the 5,000-meter run for the Colby College women's indoor track and field team in a non-scoring meet at Tufts University on Monday.

 
The Tufts Invitational was scheduled for Saturday, but was postponed because of the storm. The Colby women took only a few women to Monday's meet.

Connolly had a time of 18 minutes, 29.25 seconds in the field of 12 runners. She was running the 5,000 for the first time this winter.
 
Kate MacNamee took fourth place in the weight throw with a toss of 42-6.75 and qualified for the New England Division III Championships, while teammate Cassandra Smith placed sixth in 37-4. Brittany Colford was sixth and qualified for the New England Division III meet in the 1,000 meters (3:10.06) and Kylie VanBuren had the same placing in the 3,000 meters (11:36.69). Claire Dunn was eighth in the 3,000 in 12:01.07.
