Paddy Sullivan discussing remediation

The Problems in Environmental Science class at Colby College gave the public presentation of their East Pond Watershed study results on Dec. 6, 1999. East Pond is at the head of the chain of the Belgrade Lakes, a cluster of seven lakes near Waterville and Augusta, Maine. Over 100 people were in attendance at the presentation, which lasted one and a half hours. A brief summary and recommendations (corrected 12/22/99) can be found by the link provided (it will download a PDF document). The full report ("Water Quality in East Pond: Factors Contributing to Algal Blooms and Strategies for Remediation") is available in the Colby Science Library.
