The Problems in Environmental Science
class at Colby College gave the public presentation of their Great Pond Watershed
study results on Dec. 7, 1998. Great Pond is the largest of the Belgrade Lakes,
a cluster of seven lakes near Waterville and Augusta, Maine. Over 70 people
were in attendance at the presentation, which lasted two hours. A brief summary
of the material presented and a list of recommendations
can be found by the links provided. The full report (Land Use Patterns in Relation
to Lake Water Quality in the Great Pond Watershed") is available in the Colby
Science Library.
