War Dance

They were child soldiers, abducted by rebel forces in northern Uganda’s lengthy civil war and forced to participate in and witness unthinkable violence. But in this climate of fear and squalor, the children of the Patongo refugee camp mounted a bid to compete in the National Music Competition in far-off Kampala. Award-winning documentary filmmakers Sean Fine and Andrea Nix Fine ’91 have chronicled this story in War/Dance, which is acclaimed on the festival circuit and now in release—with profits to go to children in Uganda.
