As Colby moves to online learning to ensure students continue their academics while staying safe and healthy, DavisConnects is open for business and here to help you with all aspects of your job/internship search.
Virtual Advising Appointments
Please use Handshake to book future advising appointments at your preferred time, and we will send a Zoom link, Google Meet meeting name, or a phone number! Book with your DavisConnects Advisor (your assigned advisor is listed on myColby), or select any member of our team. All of us are eager to help. To log into Handshake, use your [email protected] email address, followed by your Colby username and password when directed to the Colby single-sign-on page.
Workshops will resume on Monday, March 30th (after the break) and students will have access to live and recorded versions along with helpful video content in Handshake.
Job & Internship Postings + Recruiting Events
View current internship and full-time job opportunities under Handshake postings. Employer recruiting events and information sessions, are now virtual and listed under Handshake events.
We have extended the funding deadline to March 22nd at midnight so all students have additional time to submit their best application. Our preference and hope is to continue awarding funding, although we are monitoring this ever-changing landscape on a daily basis and may need to postpone Colby-supported travel experience and funding until a future date.
Colby Connect and LinkedIn
Take advantage of your time at home to continue networking with the Colby community through Colby Connect and LinkedIn. Check our LinkedIn guide to build a strong profile. We will also continue providing tips on staying connected and on-track with your internship and job search networking.
Micro-Internships You Can Do Right Now
In partnership with Parker Dewey, a platform where 100’s of companies and non-profits go to hire students for short-term (5-40 hours) paid projects, DavisConnects has arranged for Colby to have its own portal where alumni, parents and friends can add their own paid projects. This is a great way for you to gain valuable work experience and earn some money starting right now. Sign up for your account here.
Note: Parker Dewey reports that most students will submit 15 applications in order to land their first project, so be persistent!
