Bio

Elisabeth Fairfield Stokes has been teaching at Colby since 2001. Her work has appeared in several national and international publications, including The New York Times, Salon, The Washington Post, Pacific Standard, Catapult, Upworthy, USA TODAY, and TIME, and has been widely anthologized. Her essay "Reaping What Rape Culture Sows: Live From the Killing Fields of Growing up Female in America" is included in the anthology Not That Bad: Dispatches from Rape Culture, edited by Roxane Gay, which debuted in May, 2018 on the New York Times' Bestseller list. She lives in Mount Vernon, Maine with her husband and two daughters.
