Professional Information

My research focuses on word and image, particularly on the dialogue of literature and painting in seventeenth-century Spain, with an eye on ekphrastic poetry and the emblematic tradition. I also work on funeral, elegiac, and epitaphic poetry of the Baroque, as well as on readings of the Baroque by pre and post-Civil War Spanish poets. My current projects explore the early modern culture of collecting and the cabinet of curiosities in early modern Spanish literature.
