Rurik L. Spence
Director of Support Services
Director of Support Services Rurik L. Spence leads the team that supports users of computing technology. Support Services provides or directs users to support resources whether in hand, on a desktop, or in the cloud. Support Services directly manages end-user security, hardware allocations, software acquisition and installation, client backups, public and teaching labs, and printing. Rurik started at Colby College in 1988 as a computer consultant, later became a systems administrator, prior to assuming his current role as a director. He earned his Associates Degree in Business Administration from Thomas College in 2011. Outside of Colby, Rurik spends time with his family, is a backyard beekeeper, electric bass player, likes to repair his own vehicles.
