Professor Mazzeo teaches writing, literature, and literary/cultural theory at Colby. Professor Mazzeo has specializations in narrative nonfiction, women's biography, the literature of the Romantic period in Britain, and the cultural history of Europe during the Second World War. She is the author of Plagiarism and Literary Property in the Romantic Period (University of Pennsylvania Press 2007), the New York Times best-selling biography The Widow Clicquot (Harper Collins 2008), The Secret of Chanel No. 5 (Harper Collins, 2010), and The Hotel on Place Vendome (Harper Collins, 2014). She is currently completing the biography of the Polish Holocaust-era heroine Irena Sendler for Gallery / Simon & Schuster (forthcoming 2016).
Professor Mazzeo also writes for the popular press on wine and is the author of several books on the wines of California.
