Water main work completed | June 8, 2017

We are making great progress downtown, and  I am happy to report that the two Main Street water main shut downs wrapped up without incident. I sincerely appreciate everyone’s cooperation.

Construction on 150 Main Street site, June 7, 2017

Our crews are working very hard, sometimes in the middle of the night, to ensure businesses can operate with as little disruption as possible.  Our work on the Temple Street (west) is moving along slightly ahead of our planned June 30 completion date. If the weather holds out we hope to install an initial layer of pavement and open Temple St (west of Main Street) before June 30.

CMP, independent of our crews,  will be installing a new underground vault on Appleton Street (west of Main).  This work will occur at some point between June 26 and July 17.  The City of Waterville is communicating with CMP regularly to ensure proper traffic controls measures are in place for this work. I will notify you of more exact dates as I learn them.

We received comment this past week regarding site lighting not working in the Concourse.  CMP diagnosed this problem as a faulty meter in the Spring St. control box.  Public Works and CMP diagnosed the problem quickly and the lights are back on.

The City’s police, fire, public works, and engineering departments have all been great and collaborative partners.   We hope to complete most all major utility work in the roads by the end of June allowing traffic patterns to return to normal.

You may have noticed that foundation construction has started on the new mixed use project at 150 Main Street.  Progress!  We hope to see steel being erected mid July. It will be exciting to see the building taking shape. As always, please feel free to contact me directly.
