ES (BIEN) Alum Named Ohio Professor of the Year

Laurel Anderson ’88 was named the 2015 Ohio Professor of the Year by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE). Anderson, a botany-microbiology professor at Ohio Wesleyan University credited with the creation of an international undergraduate research network, was recognized at a Washington, D.C., luncheon Nov. 19.

Laurel was an environmental science and biology major at Colby. During her tenure as a Colby student she took courses from Professor Russ Cole and worked as a research assistant for him for three years and completed the ES 494 Senior Capstone course (formerly BI493).
