Lakes Studies Featured in Portal of Outstanding Undergrad Research
Among a half dozen exemplary undergraduate research initiatives featured on the homepage of the Undergraduate Research Commons is the Colby Environmental Assessment Team. The team, part of the Environmental Studies Program’s capstone experience, has students take an intensive research course gathering data for an annual report about water ecology in nearby lakes, especially the Belgrade Lakes.
The Undergraduate Research Commons describes itself as “a portal showcasing outstanding published works authored by thousands of undergraduate students.” It was established to provide greater visibility to exemplary student work being published by undergraduates at colleges and universities.
The Undergraduate Research Commons’ Colby link goes to the Colby Environmental Assessment Teams’ lakes studies generated by senior researchers in the course Problems in Environmental Science (ES494). That is just one page in the [email protected] portal.
