Journal vouchers are Colby’s way of transferring funds between internal accounts within our General Ledger.

When completing a journal voucher, use a description that is short and to the point for the transaction (ie: J Doe OfficeSupplies), keeping in mind that only the first 20 characters of the description will be captured.

Always list the debit account (where you are taking the money from) on the first line with the description of the transaction, and the credit account (where you want the money to go) on the second line.

The actual monetary amounts should be listed under the appropriate debit and credit column(s).

Email the journal voucher as an Excel spreadsheet to since all journal entries are done electronically by Accounts Payable.
