Alissa Rubin, a Pulitzer Prize-winning foreign correspondent for the New York Times, recieved Colby College’s Elijah Parish Lovejoy Award for courageous journalism Monday, Oct. 24 in Colby’s Lorimer Chapel. Rubin delivered the 2016 Lovejoy Convocation address at the ceremony, in which she underscored the importance of accepting rick and overcoming hardship in the search for the truth. She also received an honorary doctoral degree.
Colby’s Lovejoy Award, established in 1952, honors a journalist who continues Elijah Parish Lovejoy’s heritage of fearlessness and freedom.
