Mitchell Lecturer Madeleine Albright served as United States’ Ambassador to the United Nations during President Bill Clinton’s first term and then as Secretary of State during his second. Ms. Albright delivers the third annual Senator George J. Mitchell Distinguished International Lecture at Colby College.
New York Times foreign correspondent and current Baghdad bureau chief John F. Burns receives the 2007 Elijah Parish Lovejoy Award. Burns has covered the Iraq War since its inception and has represented the Times in virtually every war in recent decades.
