Green Colby

In April 2013, Colby became one of the first colleges in the country to achieve carbon neutrality.

Today, our commitment to environmental sustainability remains evident in almost every department and program across campus. We have embraced policies and practices that respect the environment and promote sustainable living principles.

In addition, pioneering academic programs and a legacy of green values have made Colby a leader in environmental initiatives, and success is evident—in our net reduction of carbon emissions, the effectiveness of our sustainability programs on campus, and several innovative environmental initiatives throughout the organization.
