Emma Bailey, Storage Facility Library Assistant

I tend to the off-site Storage Facility for the Colby libraries along with David Benn and a host of student staff. I help to maintain the efficiency of the movement of books at, to, and from the Facility. Through this, I am able to support the on-campus library services, especially Interlibrary Loan and Campus Delivery.

1. Describe yourself in 3 words.

Reliable, Investigative, Unrelenting

2. What do you value most about your work?

I value the opportunity to make problems go away. I enjoy the simple satisfaction of fixing things, whether that’s finding a missing book, organizing a messy shelf, or even just learning something I didn’t know before.

3. When not at work, what three activities do you enjoy the most?

I enjoy horse back riding, knitting, and spending an irresponsible amount of time playing video games.

4. What are your reading/watching/listening to?

I am currently following two impressive cartoons, Gravity Falls and Steven Universe. Gravity Falls fills the empty space in my heart that the anticipation for more Twin Peaks has left and Steven Universe is very cute.

5. In your own words…

The Storage Facility itself is an ever growing project. I hope I am able to help us use the space to its fullest potential. The Facility gives us the needed room to expand Colby’s collection to best benefit our patrons.
