This is the last update for this year/decade! I am looking forward to our holiday party – more details will be coming soon! After next week, I will be away from the office until Monday, January 13th – just an fyi. After the holidays, I will be attending a conference and then on vacation.
I am excited to announce that we have a new Technical Services and Metadata Librarian (who will be starting on January 6th) – Asita Albert. Asita comes to us from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She has worked in academic library settings for 14 years, in a variety of departments, and has almost 11 years of cataloging experience. Thanks to the search committee for their hard work and to those of you who took the time to meet with the candidate and provide feedback.
On behalf of the Libraries, we have sent a holiday gift basket to Julie Retelle who retired from Bates today after 30+ years service to both Bates and CBB.
A few reminders:
The deadline to sign up for committees and working groups is Monday by the end of the day: https://forms.gle/YHte2wiFvpBujk2o7.
Submit your professional development summaries after every conference, workshop, or event you attend (these will be posted the staff intranet – more on that soon!): https://forms.gle/APPuiqaaX1fchLtD8
Updates from the most recent chairs and directors meeting are attached.
Leadership Team is on hiatus for the spring semester – so there will be no updates or minutes from the group during that time. Over the spring semester we will be getting our committees and working groups off the ground. Weekly updates will include updates from teams – to keep everyone informed about work happening across the libraries. Our staff meetings will also include updates – from committees, working groups, and teams.
