Glenna White Crawforth spent the summer at her beach house on the Oregon coast. Boise is just too hot for her in the summer. She plans to be in the Boston area for her 50th high school reunion in November. I (your correspondent) haven’t seen her since our graduation from Colby, and we are planning to get together for lunch while she is on the East Coast. * Nancy Short Hall finds it hard to believe that she’s been retired for 10 years. She stays much too busy. She recently returned from a family vacation in Alaska, where she was truly amazed by the grandeur of the glaciers and mountains. They saw Denali on three separate days from both the north and south sides. She and her husband are back in Vermont, where they keep busy remodeling their home and attempting to keep up with their gardens. In November they will return to their winter home in Plant City, Fla., and to their square-dancing life. She invites classmates to drop by to see them in either place. * Ted Sasso and his wife were off to Alaska for a week and were looking forward to whales, huskies, malamutes, and more. * Skip Fucillo says hello to everyone. During the past year he and Linda have split their time between Key Biscayne, Fla., and the coast of Maine. They visited with Martha Luce ’70 and Richie Habeshian, Gerald Ogus, and Peter Frizzell. The 2013 Red Sox blessed the Cask ’n Flagon with another World Series, and he is looking forward to Colby-Bowdoin hockey this fall. * Arthur Brennan experienced that old back-to-school feeling. He’s teaching as an adjunct at York County Community College this fall. He has a full roster of students, so this experience may be more work than he had planned on! * Mike and Olive Niles Shu sold their house in Holiday, Fla., and moved 17 miles farther south to a condo overlooking the marina in the Gulf Coast town of Dunedin. They had just settled in when it was time to drive north to their summer location in Wellfleet, Mass. They enjoyed their summer in Wellfleet with visits from family and friends and spectacular weather. This fall they will return to Florida and explore their new town. They are especially looking forward to NOT having to fuss with maintaining their little patch of St. Augustine grass. * Lynne Oakes Camp (your correspondent) has been keeping very busy as well. I traveled to Riviera Maya in Mexico last spring with my mother and two sisters to celebrate my mother’s 91st birthday. Last summer I attended my 50th high school class reunion in Gloucester, Mass., and had a wonderful time. I’m active in town government and serve as a trustee of the Trust Funds in Newton, N.H. I have been an alternate trustee of my local library for a couple of years and plan to run in the next town election for a regular library trustee position. I’m also very active in my condominium association. My husband, Howie ’69, and I will be in Maine for a week in October, and I will travel to Las Vegas with a friend for a week in November. We have really enjoyed living in New Hampshire the past couple of years. If anyone is in the area, please feel free to drop in and see us.
