William F. Kelleher ’72, Sept. 18, 2013, in Syracuse, N.Y., at 63. After attending Colby he earned his bachelor’s degree at UMass-Amherst. He earned a Ph.D. in cultural anthropology at Michigan and taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and at Syracuse. He studied Northern Ireland, and in 2003 the University of Michigan Press published his book The Troubles in Ballybogoin: Memory and Identity in Northern Ireland. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Jo Thomas, two daughters, and his stepmother.
