Eight seniors working in the studio arts at Colby College in Waterville will exhibit their work at the Colby College Museum of Art May 10-27 in the college’s annual Senior Art Show. The students will exhibit paintings, prints, drawings and sculptures. An opening reception will be held Thursday, May 10, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and the public is invited.

Hannah Smith will exhibit paintings resulting from a year-long project during which she worked with Professor Bevin Engman as part of Colby’s Senior Scholar program. Smith’s project, “Drawing from Words,” is an exploration of the relationship between her paintings and the stories she has written for creative writing classes.

Dana Fowler, Katherine Meyerhans, Kirsten Sisk and Elizabeth Young will exhibit paintings. Tracey Wheatley will display prints, Andrew Tripp will show sculptures and Sarah Rundquist will display paintings and drawings.

Also on view at the museum is “Maine Contemporary Furniture,” with pieces by 18 Maine artists. “Maine Contemporary Furniture,” explores international trends and the diversity of influences in contemporary design–Shaker, Bauhaus and Asian.
