The Colby College Museum of Art will be closed on Monday, December 24, and Tuesday, December 25, for the Christmas holiday. The museum will reopen with regular hours on Wednesday, December 26.

Currently on display at the museum is the Fall Faculty Exhibition, featuring works by faculty members Bevin Engman, Harriett Matthews, Gary Mitchell, Dee Peppe, Scott Reed and Abbott Meader. Also at the museum is “Maine Women in the Visual Arts,” an exhibit of works by more than 50 Maine women artists. Both exhibits are on view through December 28.

Upcoming exhibits at the museum include “Larry Hayden Drawings 1990-2001” opening on January 13. The exhibit consists of a series of Hayden’s 17-by-14-inch drawings created with pencil on parchment paper. February 10 the Joan Whitney Payson Collection, a collection of 26 paintings by world-famous Impressionist and Post-Impressionist artists, will return to the museum.

Colby museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, and the museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. For information call (207) 872-3228.
