On Sunday, September 15, guitarist David Burgess will perform music from Brazil. The concert, part of the 2002-03 Music at Colby Concert Series, will be held at 3 p.m. in Given Auditorium of the Bixler Art and Music Center on the Waterville campus. It is open to the public and free of charge.

The concert program will feature tango, bossa nova, jazz, classical and popular music by Brazilian composers, including Ernesto Nazareth, Joäo Pernambuco, Pixinguinha and Radamés Gnattali. Burgess was a student of the late Andrés Segovia, considered the father of the modern classical guitar movement. He also has won top honors in competitions around the world, including first prize in the Andrés Segovia Fellowship Competition.
