Colby students will exhibit their work at the Colby College Museum of Art in Waterville April 11-20 in the college’s annual student art exhibition. An opening reception will be held Friday, April 11, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. and is open to the public.

For the show, the students typically exhibit works of varying media including charcoal life drawings, prints and paintings, photographs, welded steel, plaster and mixed media sculpture. The exhibition is juried by members of Colby’s studio art faculty, and course projects from studio classes comprise the work in the exhibition.

Also on view at the museum are Wire and Plastic, Leather and Grass: Contemporary African Creativities, an exhibit of objects from South Africa, Somalia and West African countries, and Foreign and Familiar, a series of large black and white photographs by Dee Peppe.

Colby museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 2 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is free, and the museum is accessible to persons with disabilities. For information call 207-872-3228 or visit
