Colby College maintains a number of ski trails and walking trails on campus. Nordic skiers from the Waterville area are welcome and encouraged to enjoy the ski trails, which are groomed for classical cross-country and skate skiing. Walkers are welcome on campus walkways and on those trails in the Perkins Arboretum open to walking and snowshoeing.

Since footprints and snowshoes damage the grooming for skiers, the ski trails are closed to walkers and people on snowshoes through March 15th.

Walking trails in the Perkins Arboretum and Bird Sanctuary (accessible near the south entrance to the campus) are offered year-round.

The two sets of trails that are reserved for skiers are located behind the construction site of the new Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center and atop the hill behind the President’s House and Runnals Field. Signs are posted.

The Colby Nordic ski teams appreciate your cooperation.
