Local residents are invited to a variety of events on Mayflower Hill for Colby College’s annual Reunion Weekend, June 4-7.

Friday’s events include faculty talks on subjects such as the making of a musical virtuoso, the conflict between technology and nature, Colby research on chemotherapy drugs, and successes and failures in President Obama’s first five months. Professor Jennifer Finney Boylan will read from old and new work, fiction and memoir.

On Saturday, alumni will speak on topics ranging from writing for new media to seeking balance in family life. Also on Saturday, alumni authors will sign copies of their books. A number of children’s activities will also be available.

President William D. Adams will deliver the State of the College address on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. He will discuss Colby’s present and future, followed by a question-and-answer session.

Two tours of the Colby College Museum of Art will be offered, one Friday at 3 p.m. with Lunder Curator of American Art Elizabeth Finch and one Saturday at 3 p.m. with Mirken Curator of Education Lauren Lessing.
