Personal trainer Patrick Harner ’05 was one of about 5,000 participants in the Chicago Urbanathalon, a 12-mile race that includes obstacles such as “hopping over a stationary taxicab, running through multiple sets of tires, jumping over marine hurdles, climbing the stairs of Soldier Stadium [sic], swinging from monkey bars, and leaping over walls. A 2005 graduate of Colby College in Maine and a varsity athlete in football and track, Harner had been looking for interesting things to do after college to fill his competitive urge.”
