Soraya Sarhaddi Nelson has been named the 2011 Elijah Parish Lovejoy Award recipient. The award is given annually to a journalist displaying courage is journalism. Nelson started NPR’s Kabul bureau and covered the Arab Spring from Cairo and the fall of Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi.
