Professor of History James L.A. Webb Jr.’s The Long Struggle Against Malaria in Tropical Africa was released March 31. Published by Cambridge University Press and available April 6 on Amazon, the 275-page book is the first history of malaria control efforts in tropical Africa. Integrating several fields—parasitology, entomology, and biomedicine—the book details the struggle for malaria control against the backdrop of political, social, cultural, and economic change and unrest from the late 19th century to the present.
