Mike Pride, a member of the Elijah Parish Lovejoy Award committee at Colby and former editor of the Concord Monitor, has been named administrator of the Pulitzer Prizes effective Sept. 1. Pride was a member of the Pulitzer board from 1999 to 2008, serving as co-chair in his final year. Under Pride’s leadership of the Monitor, from 1983 to 2008, the paper won the New England Newspaper of the Year Award 19 times, earned numerous national accolades, was cited by Time and the Columbia Journalism Review as one of the best papers in the country, and in 2008 won the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography.
