Colby students are helping local children learn how they can help others through artwork. Through the Kidz b Kidz program, Colby students mentored a group of Waterville children through the process of drawing pictures that were turned into a quilt and given to a sick boy who celebrated his birthday Friday, Nov. 21, at Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland, Maine. The kids watched the boy open the quilt via Skype.

“We hope that the quilt will make a sick child feel better,” said Hannah Corderman ’16. “And we hope that [the children] can see how that can actually translate into directly helping kids, so they can see just what their work has done.”
