On Nov. 25 more than 50 Colby students gathered in Pulver Pavilion, Cotter Union, for a silent protest of the Ferguson, Mo., grand jury decision not to indict Darren Wilson in the Aug. 9 shooting death of 18-year-old Michael Brown. The students protested by standing silently with their hands raised for 12 minutes. Tionna Haynes ’15, organizer of the protest, said that the purpose of the demonstration was to stand in solidarity with Brown’s family and the peaceful Ferguson protestors.
