After receiving a bequest from artist Bernard Langlais’s widow, Helen Friend Langlais, in 2010, the Colby College Museum of Art teamed up with the Wisconsin-based Kohler Foundation to distribute art to nonprofits. The city of Portland, Maine, is one of the largest beneficiaries of Langlais’s work. Ten sculptures, including Playing Bears at the Portland International Jetport, are being displayed at public sites throughout the city.
