Eric Barthold ’12, a cofounder of Mules Against Violence as a student at Colby, is now consulting at Carrabassett Valley Academy in Maine to get young men to think and talk critically about gender roles and sexual violence. His program, Men Against Violence, is the subject of a five-minute segment on the WCSH6 news magazine “207” that aired Dec. 18, 2014. Barthold said he never critically questioned masculinity and coming of age as a male in American society until he took the education course Boys To Men at Colby, and now he’s working to start that conversation with male athletes at the Maine prep school and elsewhere.
