Former Colby football coach and athletic director Dick McGee passed away Feb. 26 at age 84, leaving behind a legacy of contributions to youth sports and college athletics in central Maine. He was a leader of the Fairfield Police Athletic League for more than 50 years, and even after retiring from his coaching position at Colby, he often returned to Mayflower Hill for practices and games. “Nobody did as much for youth sports in central Maine as Dick McGee,” columnist Travis Lazarczyk writes.
