Muskingum University in New Concord, Ohio, honored Karen Brown ’65 as Remarkable Woman of the Past at the university’s “Remarkable Women: Past, Present, and Future” luncheon on March 3. The annual event celebrates three women—representing the past, the present, and the future—for their contributions and leadership in their community and academia. Brown, who passed away Jan. 3, 2010, was eulogized by an alumna of the university who remembered her as “a great mentor to many students, like me.” Her passions for music and Spanish culture made lasting contributions to the university community.
