John Alsop ’74, an assistant attorney general for the state of Maine, devotes his free time to painting, a skill he refined as an art student at Colby. While majoring in art, Alsop also minored in history, which led him to apply to law school and earn a degree from the University of Maine. Today, he continues to paint outside of work and has been featured several times in the annual Maine Open Juried Art Show now underway at the Waterville Public Library. This year he won third place for an oil painting he entered in the show.
